First of all,I would ask you all nicely to please,please,please restrain yourselves from posting ps3 fanboy shit etc.As the topic title says,I'm planning to buy X360 since PS3 is a bit too expensive for my budget!I just want to ask X360 users what's their experience with 360 because I heard it breaks and malfunctions a lot and gets those so-called red rings of death.

I've had mine for 15 months never been a serious problem, still the same console. I get disc read errors occasionally but thats easily solved by ejecting and restarting.

A few of my friends have had the ring of death but MS are happy to replace, takes about 2 weeks normally.

Apart from that I enjoy my xbox and would reccommend.

I bought an Xbox 3sexy at launch. I returned it for another 2 months later. I returned that one 2 months later, then took that one straight to GameStop for store credit (taking a considerable loss as I could not return the product for cash) and bought a PS3.

XBox made me into a PS3 fanboy.

No problems whatsoever and I've had mine since 2006. With the new Jasper chips out as previously posted, your chances of getting the RRoD are slim to none.

You'll be fine. In the worst case scenario and something does go wrong, MS's support is excellent...plus, they give you a month free of Live to compensate.

My brother got an Elite this time last year, and the GPU just packed in. Overheated. One thing I would recommend is uprating the fans.

It's a fucking awesome machine. The RROD's aren't as common as you think, you just hear from them a lot because who ever gets them bitches instantly and won't stop until everyone shows some anger for Microsoft.

I've never had a problem with mine.

The only thing that sucks about them, and you'd do well to remember, is to either never try and move it when it's on, or have it in a place that can be knocked over, and also try not to use it vertically.

Other than that, fucking awesome console. Never regretted getting mine

I bought an xbox 360, i'm happy but at a long term i think ps3 is worth the price.
I see heavy Rain and many other ps3 exclusives and start thinking damn, why did i buy an xbox.
And plus it makes an awful lot of noise that after a while you have to buy those noise canceling headphones.
But still for 179euroes is a great console.
