There is a local AM sports station that comes in clear during the morning and mid afternoon in my car and at home.  But at night, it is a scrambled mess no matter what the weather is.  Any idea why this happens?

I meaning to google this but get the opposite problem of bad AM signal in the morning and clear broadcast in the afternoon. I want to say it is more prevalent during the late fall / winter.

You need to be listening to PM in the afternoon.

They power down the radio signal boosters during off peak to save on costs.
