I have a widescreen monitor. The game is stretched. The program is called widescreen fixer?

Seems like the only higher resolutions this monitor does is 1440x900, 1680x1050. And BF2 only has 4:3 kinda settings. So in order to do a wide screen setting I have to force the resolutions right? Which is done via this shortcut thing...Right?

Just put

Code:

+menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +restart 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050
after the path to your BF2.exe. Then run widescreenfixer to see more on the sides, instead of having the top and bottom cropped.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I've been playing for so long on wide screen that I don't notice the stretching anymore
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Same. I do, however, notice how tall and slim everything looks on 4:3 or 5:4.

Works for Vanilla, but doesn't seem to be working for special forces? I entered the same code as the other shortcut:

+menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +restart 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

Maybe that's the problem? Or does wsfixer not support SF? Which I can't see why not...

Edit: On another note, even when I click the SF icon, it still starts vanilla BF2, so it must be something in the code? The menu part?

It most likely does not. Does the image look stretched horizontally and/or fuzzy and pixelated? Especially the text.

No it doesn't, I was actually amazed at how clear the text was. My old monitor was shit

Reinstall.

It's BF2 for crying out loud, reinstalling should be the first thing you do.

So...

Code:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +restart 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050 +modPath mods\xpack +ignoreAsserts 1
This? Looks a little convoluted.
