There must be a way between McDonald's and this wannabe hippie stuff
In the US a large percentage of the food is pre-prepared stuff. Slightly different way of eating to Europe.
yeah, we really don't have outdoor markets here, except for like 3 hours every sunday morning or whatnot

A large percentage is unprepared too.  Like I said, you guys don't have frozen pizzas?  No one has the time to cook 3 fully prepared meals every day.  That includes Euros, I'm sure.

He says "I went to a British equivalent of a whole foods market named Waitrose, I recall i went there once. There were three oranges for three english pounds, i was rather annoyed. I wondered if they had been imported from mars and that, that was the reason for the high price. I decided to go over to a cheaper section that sells food that is about to go out of date (possibly in the next day) and because of that it is reduced in price. I then proceeded to buy a Sandwich from there.
thank you.

see you wankers is it that hard?
When I expand and fully form my sentences with main and subordinate clauses I get in trouble for it. So, a lack of grammar annoys you but standard grammatical sentences are also incomprehensible. You're hard to please!

Btw m3th how are you too poor to shop in Waitrose when you work at Canary Wharf with your Ray Bans and bespoke tailored suits from Saville Row? You're a bit of a copout, Waitrose is hardly luxury.

Not really. I always find time to cook. Between the time I come home from work or university and the time I go to bed I always have at least 4h free time and usually much more. Using one hour for nice food is worth it. Plus you can watch TV or talk to people.

I like cooking

EDIT: as for the other meals. You can either prepare something the night before or just make some sandwiches

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

You mean take-away. Restaurants are far too expensive for "half the people" of England, namely speaking the North as a whole.

on second thought, this place sound like a euro-style market with organic signs placed all over it.

never mind my comment then

Spoiler (highlight to read):
organic is a huge rip off though

I do the same.  I love cooking, but I only cook maybe 5 nights a week if I'm lucky.  Sometimes the bar calls early and I have to dine on the go.  Most of the time I post here after work it's because I'm cooking too.

i dont agree it is a rip off.  its not loaded full of shit and the animals are not raised in little cages or whatever.  they are all open range animals.

Well in common-sense terms that means you're paying extra money on a tangible commodity for an intangible ethical ideal.

ergo: rip-off

I could care less if the animal was kept in a cage or allowed to go on daytrips to the grassland theme park- if it tastes good, get in mah belly!

I'm all for treating animals well. But I'm also for GM food as it largely eliminates the need to pump the food full of shit. I buy whatever tastes best and if that happens to be organic, so be it.

i.e. buy whatever has the best quality / taste

Yeah, you're right. Cannot argue with that part. But I'm easy to please and if my chemical-deluxe version of food still tastes good, I'm going to eat it. Everything is bad for you and everything kills you eventually so I'll live for the now and tuck into my good-tasting preservative-pumped produce.

blah blah blah.  I eat organic food almost exclusively, smoke cigarettes, drink heavily, go me!  I do it to support locals and feel good about myself (I guess I lack self-esteem), but I know it is a lifestyle choice - nothing more.  I don't hate on people (fuck u uzi, you inhumane faggot) because they have different world views. I do it because some inane rationale drives me to.  Oh, and I love pot.  Pollute myself with it actually.  Am I ?  Yeah, very much so.

Home grown/freshly slaughtered and butchered > Shops. Always.

I grew up on home grown veggies and eggs. Have had access to fresh mangoes most of my life (on the tree fresh)...

Have had the opportunity to eat meat from freshly slaughtered rabbits, pigs, bullocks and a lot of wildcaught fresh fish.

I was a spoilt little shit when it came to food when I was younger.
