So far I've got these:
Arctic Cooling Freezer XTREME

ZALMAN CNPS 9500 AT

It will be for the build in my signature and plenty of airflow around the CPU with exaust from the back and top of the case...

And the TRUE is above my budget... funny thing about the true is, that the eXtreme version is cheaper than the regular

also: Please specify if you currently own the cooler you are suggesting

You may suggest anything, but I would prefer something from the major brands since availability is not as wide here as in the US...

Suggestions/Alternatives so far:

Xigmatek HDT-S1283

OC-Z Vendetta 2

Hdt-1283.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Hmm, not sure if I dare go with a brand that I have never heard off and is also not very known (to me atleast)...

Ask DU.

I use one at the moment too. Keeps this E6600 at 55C IBT load @ 3.6GHz @ 1.62 vcore. Also kept Q9550 @ 4GHz @ 1.44 vcore under 65C IBT temps.

Very decent cooler.

This little baby looks interesting aswell considering this comparison with the TRUE X and HDT-S1283 + I've got more trust in this brand as it is somewhat more popular than Xigmatek

OCZ Vendetta 2 is excellent. i have it in my current build and it cools my e8400 (overclocked to 4GHz) brilliantly. the price is also pretty reasonable, but its big so u gotta make sure u have room in ur case... but i guess that goes for most high-end CPU coolers.

Hmm, I'm getting a P5Q so I should be clear when it comes to the hight of the passive heatsinks on my mobo

That review pretty clearly states that they are pretty much equal. Go for the cheapest tbh (Vendetta 2 / HDT-1283).

Speaking from experience you'll be able to fit any cooler on the P5Q

How is the fan mounted on the heatsink??
Can you swap it with just about any other 3rd party fan?

And how would you think it would affect it if I mounted a fan with an aluminum frame on it?

It's mounted with rubber things. You need open screw holes. The fan you posted won't work.

look at the last pic he posted

Its mounted with little rubber things that get pulled through the holes on each corner of the fan and then the other end slides in between fins on the heatsink... its kinda hard to explain lol.

Most other 120mm fans (by 25mm) will work. as for that aluminium fan thing u posted, i dont think it will mount properly.. u would need to work out your own way of mounting. any like the Antec Tricool, or Zalman LED will work fine afaik

Yeah I can't really tell...

So basically the screw holes have to be through a thin layer of material (plastic) in order for those rubber thingys to lock it in place?

Yep.

u have to pull them through the hole until it squeezes through and locks in.

Couldn't I just use a tweezer to pull them?

possibly... but if theres nothing on the inside to latch on to (hold) the rubber thing in there then it wont work.

There is, how else would the screws hold the fan in place

This is how they should look on the inside

it would only work if it was like this on the inside.

                            _____________

because the rubber thing needs to be push/pulled through the thin bit. and then expand into the bigger bit... that how it works.... but its only very short. designed for a 5mm fan casing.
