I'm strongly considering a 780i, E8500 and two more 8800GTs.
Main purpose for the upgrade is folding and stability, as my current rig is a poor producer (<7kPPD) and is an unstable piece of fuck due to poor mobo (Which I got for free, lol).
I can get a new 780i for 180€, CPU (E8500) around 150-180, and 8800GTs or 9800GTs for about 100€ a piece. If overpriced i7 and shity ATI are out of the question, would this be a good plan?

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
