Whenever I go to play a game it works fine until after about 10-20 minutes in the game suddenly freezes up (screen doesn't change, repeated noises). Now I can ctrl alt del out of this and end the process just fine, it doesn't even say its non-reponsive. I have no idea what the cause is though.
Specs AMD AM2 5400X2 at stock 2.8,
2 gig of good ram
fairly new 320Gb HDD (WD, only about 3 months old)
8800GTS
Old, but decent sound blaster audigy 2 SE sound card.
xp
I've carried out a defrag incase it was that, its not stopped it. Memtest says everythings good. Its not overheating or anything like that, I've made no changes to the actual comp in weeks so there's no sudden change to create this fault. Oh and general music/internet usage is fine and I run Ccleaner every week or so and have about 200 Gb free on the HDD.
On DU's reccomendation I reinstalled the sound drivers, but thats not worked.
Any idea's. I'm off to make sure that Ive not sleepwalked and changed the bios somehow (you never know).
