If you want something failry cheap, look at the Fatal1ty headphones with removable mic. They go for about 30€ (dunno about Canada $), and actaully are much better than you'd think. Compared side-to-side to a pair of Icemats, there actually isn't a lot of difference. They have a wee bit less bass, barely noticable, and a bit more mids. They also fit pretty comfortably. I've never had any ear-aches and such from them due to discomfort.
headphones, not headset
Removable mic. I use them as headphones all the time.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Don't think MP3 players take USB.

Yeah, I had the standard audio-jack version. Went nicely with my surround-sound audio console, I could whip in the Headphones jack at any time and not have to use the microphone part, and vice-versa. Pretty functional, meh-quality build-wise, decent audio-quality... nothing to write home about.

Love my Sennheiser PC350 now instead

Of course there is. I'm not retarded.
