My Xbox to my computer, so I can get Xbox live through the internet connection on my computer. Also, so I can stream media to my Xbox when I'm playing games etc.

Karma for help.

I don't think you can do such things, but being a not-very-console-oriented person, take that with a grain of salt.

just get another nic and bridge the connections.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Just do what Freezer said.  Install another NIC in your computer, go into the properties of My Network Places, then right-click on the already connected interface and select to bridge the connection.

just a guess but the xbox is probably near the computer and running 2 cables (one from the xbox and one from the PC) to the router would be irritating, but being able to just plug the xbox into the PC would be simple, as there would be no additional cabling needed

?  it would still take the exact amount of cabling...  just twisty-tie them together if it's "irritating".

anywho, steelie is absolutely right, connect the xbox to router (link 1), then run setup on the pc (link 2)

One thing people've yet to state is that you need a CROSS cable to connect a computer directly to an XBox(Without a switch/router)

But yeah, ideally you should check with your local thrift store for a cheap switch, it may possibly end up being cheaper than getting a second NIC.

I can send you a spare 24 port switch I have if you pay shipping(It's big and heavy)

Excuse my understanding of Americans' modem/router setups, but,

If you have a router, that would mean you have a modem also? And you could in fact put the router with the computer and XBox, with the cable running back to the modem, and not need to buy additional hardware, yes?
