I'm downloading Ewido now.

No luck with visualroute i'm not loosing any data - Hence the reason my ping stands safe.

Say I reinstall BF2 will I need to save my profile?

I know the details are saved but what do I need to keep?

All your profiles and custom-stuff gets saved in it's own folder (under mydocuments if I'm not mistaken) Don't know if it gets deleted along with the game, but I would back-up that for security..

Other than that, you should be all set to re-install the game..

What is it you don't want to do? re-install? it's not a big deal.. I have done it several times.
But yeah - it's always a good idea to wait and see if net-traffic has an impact. But then again, there are those times you just can't wait

The group I play with uses Ventrilo for voice. One guy gets lag whenever one other guy speaks over Ventrilo. He has no other problems any other time. It's conceivable that TeamSpeak is fouling you up the same way. Play around with you TS settings. I'll check with my buddy to see if he ever resolved his lag and post a follow up.

i had somting similar happen, between one day and the next, for no apparent reason, my map load times went from about 2mins to 10mins. i have know idea why, i even went as far as taking my comp to a shop to get it cleaned out. but i still have massive load times. the only servers i can use without getting kicked for idleing are the odd ones with the different symbols like 64 when im searching.... it sucks.

I am not using any external VOIP programs, and my loading times are fine. It seems many of you are not having the same problems as VoiD and I.... All help is appreciated though.

If it's not in your environment it has to be in the server's, or the connection to the server you play on. Do you have problems with all servers you join? have you tried joining servers in different countries and at different times of day?

And you are sure you are not infected with malware? 512 ram is abit on the slow side, but that doesn't explain how your game slows from one minute to the next.

Make sure you have plenty of diskspace available on your computer so that the pagefile has enough room.

Otherwide, it could be an idea to regularly clean out your bf2 folder under Mydocuments for sponsorgraphics and such. That's suppossed to free up some rescources. ---> Make sure you hang on to the 'Profiles' and 'Screenshots' folder though

Got 126GB free space so I don't think thats a problem. I can run battlefield at it's medium settings and it only slow's immediately after I load the map, then it's fine. Like Void, my problem is totally random. I've used XoftSpy to look for tojans and the like. I've looked at all my recently downloaded programs and I can't find anything, besides, I haven't downloaded anything recently, not in the timeframe of the problem. I think I'll reinstall and see what effect that has. I've never heard of a piece of code going haywire before, I don't think it can happen and this seems like a random event but again, computers run on code so how can anything be random? Anyway, thanks for your suggestions and advice, it's been helpful.

I'd suggest running different anti-malware programs stil. One might pick up what another isn't.
About the game running on code, well I don't know much about that stuff. But I guess even that code isn't what it's all about. connection and server-lag could hinder you. Malware interferring with your PC. That way, if the malware-process is sending/requesting info off the net it would hog bandwith and your game could slow up as a result.

It's isn't a bandwidth problem. Whilst in game I check and the bandwidth is at it's normal 50-80 range. I'll send a post telling how the reinstall goes. Thanks again.

Best wau to determine that would probably be to get on their webpage and see if you can't find info, or better yet contact them and ask if upgrading = fluctuations...

A few hundred complaints about the same issue should grab their attention. I reinstalled the game several times, watched pb update through the console (pb_ver), and the moment it loaded to the new version, I got shitty FPS and stutter galore.

Go look at totalbf2, bf2tracker or planetbf2 forums... there should be a couple of threads posted up about this no doubt.

Send in a ticket! even though it will only be generated response, the more the better.. Some people are getting insane lag, whilst others are getting random BSOD (I think this is a win2k issue from reading several threads).
