system specs are in my sig.

you guys think I should just buy a new graphics card, monitor and add some memory to my current system or just buy a new system.

I will have about a $1000 - $1200 USD to spend

Thank you for any replies.

Overclock CPU, consider getting a 4870 or GTX260.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I am an Nvidia fan so I was thinking the GTX260 as well
so you think thats all i should do then?

I have no idea how to over clock and I dont want to damage anything
is it hard to do?

I am gonna get a new monitor too
any recommendations  on that?

cheapest GTX 260 Core 216 and overclock CPU just like freezer said. maybe more ram too as its dirt cheap these days. (note: you won't be able to utilize all 4gb tho as u have 32bit windows. This is not a big deal tho as hardly anything use more than 3GB on XP anyway...)

Overclocking is very easy. We'll guide you step by step. How much is your budget for monitor and what size you have been thinking?
