Please god no.

You don't go flying @ 30 unless it was closer to a jump then a bump. "30" is most likely something more like 60, and it means that you actually have to do something other then hold the gas down and drive like a 12 year old. Having to manage your speed instead of being able to drive flat out in any car and just the ebrake when you want to turn was one of the best things they did.

I want planes, parachute, an off road area like the huge country sides and the mountain in SA (and vehicles that actually grip at least a little on grass/dirt, even the dirt bike gets NO grip on dirt) and thats about it. Otherwise GTA 4 was fucking great.

However are we sure this is a full fledged console release? I was just reading that they are supposed to release a new PSP version, that's not what this is about is it?

PSP release eh? This rumor has suddenly grabbed my interest. I really want a San Andreas stories game, but a PSP version of GTAIV will do just fine

ffs, bring back car upgrades.  GTA IV sucked without them imo.

And make it take place in the D.C. area, that's been long overdue for GTA.  Fallout already paved the way to D.C.-based games finally.  P.G. County would have to be in there and that would be AWESOME

I always managed to accidentally blow my car up in SA after I upgraded it.

Me too it was so easy. All that was required was a bump in the road and your newly upgraded car was upside down and worthless.

I used to spend more time upgrading a car than I spent driving it .

Exactly.

The AI drivers don't help either, cutting you off randomly or speeding into an intersection..

If teh ywould od it like they did in Scarface, buying cars and upgrading them would be cool.

The ones I upgraded in SA usually ended up in a garage, because they were to valuable to crash them lol.

it's perfect when you think about it

you've got the really rich areas like potomac and columbia and vienna
the really shitty places like southeast, suitland
the hip places like dupont circle and georgetown
the fucking god damned national mall and capitol
the marina area at the national harbor
an air force base (i don't think bolling has any bases so it'd have to be Andrews)
a couple army bases
the pentagon

christ someone call rockstar and tell them to get their asses on it.

Yeah, but with the new engine cars can take a LOT more damage... and with the new driving physics I find I tend to crash them up a lot less in the first place because the driving isn't as wild and nothing but crazy ebrake turns from full speed... I hardly ever destroy cars in GTA4 unless I REALLY don't care about them.

But you still leave them somewhere many times cause the mission requires you to go on foot/chopper/boat/etc. So they are lost, if you arn´t freeroaming. Having them back at the garage at least would be pretty cool, if the car is worth it of course.

Might not fit into the concept if the option is there from the beginning as you start as a worthless schmock, but later in the game a feature like that would be

yeah, those do suck

They did MUCH better with not randomly taking your car away in this one... but it still happened at times. I dunno about having it go back to garage... but it would be fucking sweet if they made a point of saving that car at that location, so you had to go get it.

I sure hope not. I would rather it be summer of 09' GTA4 is to new and I hate it when they release a new game in a few months "I can't remember when GTA4 came out but I think it's still pretty new" because it can wind up sucking or just a copy and paste and changing of textures and characters and such. That's not my cup of tea. If it does come out I'm not buying it.

I want a better multiplayer Co-Op system.

Like the ability to just rob a bank on free roam with your mates.

That's what I thought GTA:IV would have

The strangest rumour doing the rounds of late in the games industry has to have been the one about Grand Theft Auto V.

Yes, that's right, five.

Had the rumour not emanated from the usually fairly reliable source that is Game Informer magazine we would most likely have dismissed it without too much thought.

Rumour rubbish

"We're not talking about new DLC or a collection of previously available DLC, we're talking about a full retail game," reads the original story in Game Informer Issue 190.

"We expect this title to follow the suit of previous GTAs and use a subtitle such as GTA: San Andreas, etc. Tokyo might be a possible setting for the game, but details are non-existent at this time."

The article went on to claim that the rumoured new GTA game would be available by Christmas 2009.

A Rockstar spokesperson told Kotaku this week that the rumours were rubbish.

TechRadar has contacted Rockstar in the UK today to find out more about both the near-future and longer-term plans for the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

I still don't understand why people believed this. Especially in the age of DLC, there's no way Rockstar would put out a whole different version of a game as big as GTA in a year...
