- [L4D] Massive L4D patch. Exploits gone, Smoker buffed
My bad I said MN3 instead of NM3. But yeah. There was a well known exploit where you could melee a certain door 60-odd times and skip a cresendo event (and the only place on the level where the infected can mount a proper attack). It sounds like a lot of melee hits, but when all 4 survivors are doing the quick switch melee exploit it's done in a matter of seconds.
Yeah, it's the level where you are supposed to use the forklift to get to the roof in the car park near the petrol station. You could skip the whole thing by meleeing the door in the corner.Spidery_Yoda wrote:

In addition to that if someone set off the forklift just as the door was broken then no more common infected would appear for the whole level.
The bit before was because half the people on the steam forums were defending it saying it was a valid tactic and was a feature valve put in.
So they fixed that door-bashing part? Awesome.
Anyone who defended that shit is a fucking moron who shouldn't be playing the game in the first place.
..Did they fix the two Dead Air crescendo skipping parts too?

I was just assuming fixed map exploits has fixed the crescendo skipping. Are you talking about the fence to building jump and the jump over the burning fence?
I hope they have fixed them. I don't know though, I haven't played for over a week.

Yeah, those.
I don't get why people do them.
It's a game solely about killing the horde. Why would you want to skip a huge rush coming at you?
I live for those crescendo moments. I love quickly planning where everyone should go and where the gas canisters should go, then starting it all and mowing everything down, while making adjustments to the plan on the fly because something unexpected happened.

I understand what they do but I never heard of em, if that makes some kind of sensePeter wrote:

Anyways, I google a bit and found the one to pass the dumpster crescendo. But I doubt I´ll ever use it (if it is still possible), because that horde event is 1. very easy and 2. pretty darn funny

Now that glitch to skip crescendo event are mostly fixed, FIX the god dammed FPS back to what it was first!
i'm not eager to play again now that i've heard of so many FPS issues...Roger Lesboules wrote:

"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
My fps this morning was far better than the last 2 days. Maybe last nights patch fixed it? Maybe it was just a fluke for some reason.
"Survivor's cannot bash someone off the tongue until the Survivor being pulled is paralyzed or hanging"
That's a load of bull.
I can still melee tongues off as the Survivor is being dragged.

So played L4D for maybe 2 hours today...I got to be smoker once. I threw up 4 times on people as a boomer before I died though.

The smoker sucks nowadays, more than it used to. The aiming system is seriously bugged and the range, at least feels, shorter.

yes, wtf, i thought i just sucked at aiming. i felt like i should have hit them dead on multiple times though and instead missed.DeathUnlimited wrote:

I like the smoker, always had, its great if you can play it right

It's only great in the spots where you can drag a survivor down from a high place.Mutantsteak wrote:

Making the Survivors go in circles constantly by pulling one down from the roof (lift crescendo part) is hilarious.DeathUnlimited wrote:

That´s the problem. The smoker is usefull just in a handful of places throughout the maps. I thought htey fixed it? Goddamn work, need time to check it out.DeathUnlimited wrote:

Well this patch didnt do a lot of good, finding a decent server is still a hassle, lobbies still bug out, the smoker was a small improvement, I've not had any aiming issues and the damage dealt while they're being dragged is nice. They seem to have made the hoard zombies more stupid (if that was possible) 30% of them run up to puked on survivors and just stand there looking at them like they've noticed something shiney on their face, which is a bonus working both ways I suppose as meleeing off the hoard is now a peice of piss even if you're out in the open, even easier with the melee bug which they incidentally didn't fix.
