sourceSOUTHAMPTON, England, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- A Southampton, England, bus driver said bosses are working to accommodate him after he refused to drive a vehicle bearing an atheist advertisement.
Ron Heather, 62, said he told bosses at First Bus that his Christian beliefs would not allow him to drive a bus emblazoned with the message: "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life," The Guardian reported Friday.
"When I first saw the bus last Saturday I was shocked," Heather said. "I was just about to board and there it was staring me in the face. My first reaction was horror. ... I was in a dilemma but I felt strongly I couldn't drive that bus and so I went up to my inspectors and told them there was no way I could drive it. They said they didn't have another one, so I thought I'd better go home," he said.
Heather said bosses have since been "very good" about making sure the buses he is scheduled to drive do not carry the messages, which have been placed on 800 buses across Britain as part of a campaign by the British Humanist Association.
However, he said that if the campaign continues past February, he will "seriously consider giving up my job."
Yes I read about this last week. Good, long have we been told "There is only 1 God, worship another and you will be punished". These messages are just the same, if the guy can't handle some home truths then.. He'd better go home.
I don't see anything wrong with that view.
was there a big debate about it in England?jord wrote:

He is a tool. Accept there are other opinions and get on with your work.

Why is such an ad on a bus in the first place? That seems in a bit of bad taste.
Um.... Yet there are Christian ads all over the place? Nu uh. Doesn't just work one way.DesertFox- wrote:

Why would atheists want bus adds anyway? It's not like their belief is such that they need to go out and convert everyone they see.
I lol'd at the christian group reporting them to the Advertising Standards Agency for "misleading ads", lolwut? (see BBC for details) They claimed that masses of evidence supports the existence of God, and that there is no evidence which discounts the existance of God- but if it is 100% certain that God exists, it's not belief/faith, it's knowledge, therefore they just broke the whole point of christianity

Shouldnt be allowed to refuse? Oooo sweet baby jesus. The guy could of done a number of things that would of been worse than refusing, i.e vandalise it, or harras passengers by shouting, THERE IS A GOD, when they board the bus.
Can't please everyone I guess, I just cant get over that quote though, he shouldnt be allowed to refuse

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

It's funny how when there is atheist advertisement, nobody gives a shit, but if someone wrote something Christian on the side of the bus, everyone would go ape shit.
Fucking hypocrites.
Fucking hypocrites.
Because it would be a complete and total waste of money. I mean, if Christians or Muslims did it then they would think that by converting them they save their soles, and thus it would, by their belief, be good for both of them. If atheists do it then, well they don't belief in anything anyway so converting people doesn't mean shit to them, unless they're dicks.Freezer7Pro wrote:

People do give a shit, like the Prick bus driver the article mentions that can't ignore it and get on with his lives. Or read it and consider the message. Might do him some good...CrazeD wrote:
