I've always wondered if there's really spiders as big as people assume here in Wingland, like if I think of Australia I think of them coming second to our rugby team (JUST KIDDING I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT RUGBY) and big spiders

is zis true? Do you see spiders or big tarantulas eating fully grown adults on a daily basis?

I'm shit scared of spiders but have a tarantula of my own because they amaze me. the reactiion they get from people is like nothing else because they're so scary and shit. house spiders scare me to death but i love my tarantula, can't explain it but it's awesome.  i could look at it all day until i get bored which is like after 17 minutes because it doesn't move all that much unless being fed. It's only a baby so I'll hold it for now, when it's bigger though I can't see myself holding it too much. It's a Mexican Red Knee tarantula btw, amazing animals and I have nothing but admiration for them, beautiful animals.

this aint mine, just from google but I tried finding a similar sized to mine. I might take a picture of mine tomorrow if i can be arsed.

The spiders are big here. Have you heard of the aptly named Huntsmen spider?

https://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/spider-33.jpg

You probably think that's just a zoomed in pic, right?

This is a small specimen:

But your probably thinking of the Bird Eating Spider:

https://www.bugman123.com/Bugs/BirdEatingSpider.jpg

Real original names huh? That are so scary the guys who first saw them couldn't think of anything else but what these spiders were eating!

Those are the worst kind. Had it not been for alcohol, I would not be looking at those pictures. They're amazing animals they really are. Does anything else look as scary as those spiders? I have my Red Knee tarantula because it looks good and they're not as scary as those. How come you don't emigrate? WE have tiny spiders compared in England but I still can't  be in the same room as a house spider

Here in Australia, we are called house humans, not the other way round. That's how big they are.

I saw a programme once about 'The worlds hardest animal' they counted down from 10-1, Sharks, Tigers, Rhino, etc etc all the usual probably crocs and spiders too and sat at number 1.  A spider, the size of a coin.  This fucker would chase you and it won't give up, in comparison it be like us chasing an animal the size of a sky scraper (I know they don't run but you get my drift?).

That Red Knee spider looks stunning, would I own one, no thanks.

Have a look at this fucking thing based mainly in Iraq, the ugly cunt eats Leopard Gecko's, Me n the Gf own 2 (Leo's)

Its a Camel Spider

Go camping for any amount of time and you're bound to find something at LEAST as big as your hand.

Best I could do with a shitty Phone camera, but this one is pretty much to scale. I sprayed it with bug spray.

That only made it angry.

this little fella was living in my bathroom for a couple of weeks, they are harmless and they have webs which are good of getting rid of flies and mozzies. they usually just chill in the same spot, not moving at all for few hours, you'll turn off the light, come back, and they will be in the same place on another wall.

yes we do have spiders, such as funnel webs which are pretty popular

in 07 i was on a 1 month camp (lots of hiking canoeing, no technology, no appliances, wood stoves, no junkfood etc) it was great fun. but man did we encounter some massive spiders lol. one of my mates has a vid of them licking a massive huntsman that we froze in the freezer
also had some nice close encounters with 2 brown snakes and a red belly black. (aussies will know that these are very dangerous snakes)

Rofl so true.

Man, there was a huntsman underneath my desk a month or so ago. So I go get the Mortein, spray the fuck out of the spider, and watch it die a little bit back from where I rest my feet. But, I come back the next day and the thing is gone!? Fucking ninjaspider tbh - couldn't find it anywhere

To be honest, the only spider I would be terrified of encountering is the Brazilian Wandering Spider.

No thanks.
