so i was looking at more GPU's, and came across the 4850X2, its £250, i have seen some benchmarks and the performance compared to the 4870x2 is only 2-4 FPS difference.

it's a good card, still you have to remember that some games scale terribly under Crossfire. Check out the prices on the GTX260 Core 216. Might be a better fit

Also, go into your BIOS and turn your PCIE link to X8 and then tell me if you see any performance difference. I guarantee you won't.

the bandwidth does not affect much the performance of CF. Its how well the chipset is optimized for it. X38/X48 beat noticably P35/P45 with CF.
