Most of the questions can be answered with yes.

You can get the expert badge of your desired class with every vehicle or weapon you want,even through artillery kills as a commander.

Getting the Heli ribbon should work as a gunner aswell,I think.It just says 19 kills and 20 minutes in a helicopter to get it.

The Knife badge is a tricky thing,I myself only have the veteran knife badge.But it's easy if you use the right technique.

And the commander job,well...just use the UAV and regularly scan before arty-strikes(2 scans per artystrike possible,the arty takes the double time to reload).
I expect my army knows what to do so I don't bother them with orders unless they are vital for the outcome of the game,most good squadleaders know where to go and which are the important flags to capture.

I don't think you meant that.  You see every kill come up on the command screen, including the arty kills.  But you won't see any arty kills on the commander's score board.  However, they do get added into his global kills stats, and they do count towards his IAR award requirements.

for the knife badges i suggest a small server on 64 player karkand map...if only a maximum number of 16 people are allowed ona map of that size it will give you ample time to sneak around and get the knife kills

it's not correct

commander arty kills do not give points
but commander arty kills are hided but counted for ribbon, badge, and stats.
i get my Exper medic badge with 30 kill IAR instead of 40, because i was commandere in that round and i had 10+ arty kills (not counted in the tab screen)

you need the hours req;s before the kills. but alot of these badges need dual IAR things. like....

IAR: 20mins chopper
IAR: 19 kills.

you need BOTH req's at the same time to get the badge. others like...

100h as medic
IAR: 20 kills (fake #)

you need 100hours THEN in the next round, get 20+ kills to get the badge..
