I'm trying to re-install Windows XP (completely) by using the winnt32.exe setup file, but everytime it gets halfway through the copying install files, it gives me an "Error 1722", saying there's a problem with the Windows installer package.

I did some Googling, but I can only find results on people having this problem with other programs, not the actual Windows XP installer.

I cleared my temp folders, cleaned junk/registry with CCleaner, tried starting it in Safe (said something about not being allowed), and it still does not work.

Is there another way to reinstall XP (I don't have a CD), or a way to fix this problem?

You could try downloading the .iso and burning it to a disc.

Well I thought of that, but wouldn't that ignore my legit CD key and install a pirated version?

not if you download and burn an iso that is identical to a normal XP disk

(do be careful, some of them are retarded versions which install 9001 shitware programs that you don't even need, and some do the exact opposite and take out everything to make it "run fast" )
