My iphone keeps freezing up at random times. Ive asked a guy and he told me I had to update it. My iphones software is pirated, and afaik, the update will lock the phone.

Google came up with various programs and unlock guides, but im not so sure about them. Any ideas? The current software is 1.1.4

Connect to itunes -> restore the factory default settings

Then upgrade to the latest firmware.

Unless you want to keep it jailbroken? If so then ask someone else I don't know much about that.

update to 2.2 or wait for 2.3.  it's been a while since 2.2 so i'm waiting for 2.3.  when you update officially (which you have to do), your device loses all of its music, contacts, apps, etc. so be sure you have that store on your computer.  then jailbreak it when it's already running the official 2.2 or 2.3 from apple.
