It not about the money for most people, the cost, and time it takes to replace everything you have it a wallet is the killer.
Lost my wallet at a store a few days ago, luckily someone turned it in, would have been pretty screwed without it honestly. Sure, I only had $7 in it, but the fact that honest people still exist is great to know. I would always turn in a wallet, not a greedy bastard.

It is pretty sad that this is newsworthy, you'd think this is just common courtesy. Most people are right, going through the provess of canceling your credit card(s), debit card, re-applying for membership card(s) (if you carry any) is a hassle.
