If it wasn't for the shit ironsights, UMP would be the best SMG in the game.
I actually prefer the UMP over the PP when ammo packs are lacking.  It's good for conserving ammo when doing long distance tap kills.

Meh the UMP is just so limited thanks to the small mag.cap.

Unless the next patch fixes hitreg (hopefully) you are better off with quantity over quality of shots..

Is HitReg really that bad on PC?  All the SMG's on 360 are pretty much dead-on, so quality does matter.

M95 is the best sniper rifle in the game hands down.  Why is it bad that it sounds like an elephant gun? That's what they're SUPPOSED to sound like. I jizz in my pants every time I fire it

UMP is my fav SMG, although I do enjoy pwning with the UZI too.

The only hitreg problems I have encountered are with slugs, every other gun seems to work just fine for me.

oh and as for the source engine.. the guys that do the empires mod have proven that source can handle 32-64 players with vehicles, buildings and battlefield 2 size maps and still retain a flawless hitreg...

UT3 had huge custom maps as well as stock vehicle maps that outsize those of BC2.. and we all know DICE has one of the worst hitreg systems, and it's been that way since BF2...

Yes, the hitreg should be better, but it's laughable that you're comparing UT3 to BC2. As a modeler and animator, I can tell you that dealing with any sort of particles massively slows down any processes that you have, and quite simply, it's astonishing that so many people can run this game with as many particles as there are.
