As for the strict language filters, this thread's been done at least a half-dozen times that I've seen so far. Yes, it's annoying, but no, there's nothing we can really do about it. In my 250+ hours of play I've seen kicks and warns for various words like "lag" (as in "laggy server"), "n00b" (and/or "t00b"), "whore," "dam" (as in "Kubra Dam", not "damn"), "gay," etc.

i once got kicked for saying "commander assets". apparently they had "ass*" in the language filter. so much about having a nice gaming experiance on that server

I've been on a Christian ranked BF2 server a couple of times before...I forget the exact name of it but it has the word "Christian" in its name. The server message is something to the effect of, "No punishing intentional TKs, no TK for vehicles, no verbal abuse of other players."blackcracka wrote:

I got a language warning for saying "omg." Serves me right for using "God's name in vain" on a "Christian" server, I guess.
So in other words, Christians and Mormons can play BF2 for all I care; it's just if they choose to, they shouldn't be offended by my (non-)profanity.
And to go slightly off topic, do servers kick for language when you're USMC and use the "sorry" command on the commo rose? The guy says "Damn it, sorry," so shouldn't he get warned? (Joking...I know they don't...or at least I HOPE they don't)
You people have to remember, you're in someone else's "house" when you play on their server. If you can't abide by their rules, then find a new server to play on. They pay for the server, they can run it however they want to. That's their right! If you're not a Christian, and you choose to play on a "Christian" themed server, do you think actually think you can say/do whatever you want to? I don't think so.
