I was wondering if they're the type of thing i'd enjoy playing. And if they were good in general.

Single player is really hard. Slow and arderous. I don't ever play SP modes anyway.
MP is alright, it's one shot 1 kill type play, half the time you'll wonder who the fuck shot you. So you've gotta be careful and no runninng and gunning. Some of the maps are really brown as per the complaint in another thread. There are some tropical settings in GRAW2.
There is a good MP mode in GRAW2, can remember what it's called but you've gotta dystroy 4 anti AA batteries and the opposing team has to stop you. If you're on the offensive and die you're benched and limted to specing players who are still alive but you can respawn when a AA battery is taken out. The more battieries taken out the longer respawn time for the opposing side who have infinate respawns.
Good graphics, great sounds, great customisable weapons. The i have no idea how i died will annoy you but £15 for GRAW1 & 2 is good deal never mind the other 2. You've gotta stick at it and learn the maps as you're going to be killed quite a lot when you start out.

Not many people play MP, so be prepared to join servers in the US if you're a euro.

The original Ghost Recon was one of the very early online-FPS big hits, despite being laced with some terrible Ubisoft Chat Lobby program it still had thousands of servers and tons of people playing with a huge thriving league scene. Was the very first FPS game I ever properly played online and thoroughly enjoyed it-- gameplay is much along the lines of what m3thod described. Think Rainbow 6 only slightly better online game-modes.

Terrible, completely terrible. Worst games I have ever purchased. Needless to say I took them back.
