Gross rev. means nothing - net profit is what I want. And I suspect it's less than 10% of that figure.

Well then don't act supercilious and "lol" at someone that thinks the films are better than the books.
It kinda infers that you think the nursery-tale style of Rowlings books is somehow better than the cinema direction and acting in the film versions. Personally I don't think the paper Harry Potter books are printed on is worthy of wiping my own arse, it's a hype-wagon and Rowling could put out the most shitty-awful thing in the world and people would still snap it up because of the franchise. Twilight and Harry Potter and other sensations like that are the reason why intelligence in Western society is regressing.

I really liked the Harry Potter series since its complexity grew up along with me. I don't think there was any book I disliked and the movies are perfectly fine, not as good as the books but thats to be expected. I only wish the old Dumbledore hadn't died or Ian McKellen had taken the role, I hate this new Dumbledore; he tries way too hard.
Hate it, seen 2 of the films and that's enough.
Would defo do Hermione though

Surely without adjusting for inflation makes comparing them to the 22 Bond movies completely and utterly irrelevant?blademaster wrote:
As of 14 November 2008, the Harry Potter film franchise is the second highest grossing film franchise of all time, with the five films released so far grossing $4.48 billion worldwide. Without adjusting for inflation, this is slightly behind the 22 James Bond films and higher than the six films in the Star Wars franchise. Soon its gonna be the #1 film franchise or by 2011 or after 2011.

anyone else surprised by this?
The movies are good. I lol'ed when they dressed up like wizards in yesman and Jim Carey was pissed when the guy asked them if they wanted to watch Chamber of secrets.
