i ask this, because sometimes you TK someone with no intention at all but this person punish you (even before, you finish the tk ) and the time is HIS faul but he punish you anyways, and from there on you are piss and can't play well, but not always is like that (rare though) some people are mature enough to know it was an accident and forgive the TK.
but in the other hand when the punish button is on, tkers don't last in the server which is good

I enjoy having this option ON. There are certain reason why you just have to punish. I know it sucks being punished by a moron but you just have to have faith that there isn;t that many idiots playing that will get you kicked. A punish means nothing if it's only one or two. This is a good way to get rid of people who TK for vehicles and such because you know damn well a kick vote isn;t going to work.

i hate when i get punished for an accidental tk becuz i dont want to end up bein kicked/banned from one of my favorite servers, becuz sometimes i get like 2 accidental tks in a round and come close to gettin kicked(usually when i get kicked cuz they punish i also get banned), the punish system is a good idea but i wish there was a way for the server to know if it was accidental or on purpose so the server can add one strike to whos fault it was.

[Rant]I ve said this before the punish tk system should be scrapped! It's intented as a serveradmin tool to detect delebate tk's. Since most players dont make a difference between intentional and accidental tk's and punish before you can type or say sorry, its useless! I m sure its also useless as an admin tool cause 95% of the players seem to have a broken page down button.

Btw it doesnt make a difference if you punish or not, for - points, you allways get -4 minimum for a tk, sometimes even -6, thats -2 teamdamage for the first shot and -4 for the tk.

I like punish on as long as you have about 5 or 6 punishes before you are kicked.  On punish off servers I run into a lot more C4 tards who wont hesitate to blow you up along with an enemy.

Wow, don't get so worked up. It's not a perfect system, but it is something. When there are no admins on a server the punishing system can at least keep TKers in check. I've seen at least a couple of accounts that people apparently created for the sole purpose of TKing and causing problems (I guess they are trying to see if they can get to 2nd Lt. by going backwards). Anyway, withough the punishing system it would be very difficult to get rid of these smacktards when there is no admin present. Kicking takes too many votes (from both teams) to be effective.

I think the real problem is that the Punishing system, and it's purpose was never explained. this is evident in the rampant misconception of what it does in these forums. If everyone understood that punishing was just a means to create a counter for people to be kicked from a server and that it didn't affect scores at all then maybe people would use it differently.

well,  i really like the server that has the P/F button off, becuase  80% of the times i get TK i forgive, sometimes is my faul,sometimes is the other guy faul and sometime is nobody's faul, but when i TK i got punished 90% of the times(even though i said sorry), and most of the times is not my faul that i TK (trough a granade near a flag with 4 enemies, but my TM jumped in because he can't hit shit from 10 mts with rifle, or i planted a mine /claymore near the enemy base, and my favorite the TM that likes to run infront of someone's line of fire (they think, or not) that they won't get killed by the TM bullets
so when the server has the button off i can play more relaxed because i know that a noob won't able to punishme because he though my claymore with red skull was a power up

Theres one server called 24/7 teamplay were friendly fire is off. Settings are cool but the admins are assholes. One of them is SO.TBW.REVREND . Everytime i own his sorry ass in a jet he boots me...Sore loser.

that reminds me, admin that kick when insulted or challenged
once (PK clan sever) i complained that one of them was bunnyhopping (i hate bunnyhoppers) and started a kick vote aganist him
he then said he was kicking and banning me,
a quick f*** u and a disconnect stopped that lol

i never play in auto-teamkill severs, but sometimes it does help when say a sniper wants the helicopter or jet ur in and snipes u just for it

by the way I HATE THEM!!!

We run our server with punish off period. There are to many 10 yr old brats out there that stand in front of your vehicle/plane to purposly cause the TK. Not to mention the idiots who seem to think that the red Skull & Crossbones are powerups. The lastest version of BF2CC also has a built in function that if your score goes to far into the negitive you are kicked. That takes care of intentional TKer's when we aren't on to admin the server. If there were a way to make the moron with the pagedown button have some comman sense the punish feature might not be to bad, but as it stands today it is the most useless and F'd up feature I have ever seen in any vid game.

I HATE the servers that have no punish because then your teamates that have high scores and dont care about points can just go and kill us all, I love the punish button. And say i ran on my teams gernade and it was my fault, then I will forgive an say sorry....

I hate servers with teamkill punish off. In most of this kind of servers I've been on, you've always got one or 2 teamkilling smacktards. They are most likely to get extremely low scores, such as -50 or -100. They can't be kicked because kick votes never work and the teamkill punish is off.

Then I prefer servers with teamkill punish on. I hardly make too much teamkills for a ban.

my favorite server has the P/F button off too, and if a clan server sees you TK for a vehicule, you'll get kicked
i have been playing in that server since BFV
