reset the router to factory defaults. If that doesn't work reflash the firmware
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Use the reset button on the back of the router. Flashing is done via the admin panel

Just google it, there are gazillions of guides out there

Push and hold the reset button on the back fro 30 seconds, keep holding it and unplug the router for 30 more seconds, keep holding and plug it back in for a final 30.

That basically forces it to re-load EVERYTHING from PURE memory.

When you go to 192.168.1.1 from your browser, do you get anything?

It looks like you're not getting an ip.  Your ISP might be able to fix that by resetting it on their end. (For now) I would try unplugging the router, shutting off the computer for a couple minutes, plug the router back in and then booting your computer back up.

The router has to fetch your IP from ISP.. it is clearly having trouble. Your machine is seeing and connecting to your router with no problem. Otherwise you would have an X instead of an exclamation warning.

By holding down the reset button on the back. Firmware usually just doesn't corrupt unless you've got a real nasty virus.. and if it did I doubt you would be able to see your connection (lacking the isp).

Hold your mouse over the yellow exclamation point in the bottom right and let me know what it says.

Have you checked your network adapters in device manager?

I am also have problems with my router. I am trying to change a port but I can't connect to 192.168.1.1, and I do not know another IP to connect to.

Yes, I have tried google but nothing helped me.

My router is Westell Model 2200, and my wireless is Netgear WGR614v7.

I think your service provider is going to have to look into it from here. I get that from time to time and I do what I suggested to fix (unplug router for 15 secs and reboot). Sometimes I will have to call them, they can login to the router from where ever. You've got something else happening..

I've got something funny going on now. Say's I'm not connected when I am .

Are you trying to get to the 2200 or the Netgear?

It may be an IP conflict, unplug one of them from your computer, and change the others IP addy.

To be completely honest, I do not know which one I'm trying to get to. I just want to open 1 port for a game.

I don't have any internet wires connected to my computer, I just have the wireless adapter.

Your router could also have a hardware problem. Really at this point I would try and get in touch with your provider. You pay for service.

er.. We get a router with service here. Maybe I shouldn't have assumed you do as well. Still they should help get you up and running. I've never seen firmware just crap out though. Not with some sort of major system change at least.

well yea, i just did have a huge system change (wiped everything)
that's why i think its that
and no, the isp and router were from seperate companies
