I wish they would just use a mini-USB plug on phones for charging and data transfers

i think my V3 did that. but on every phone i ever ever ever have, the charger port bit always dies after a while, so it was somewhat...difficult to upload stuff.

Thats assuming thats the phone im thinking of.

I've had a Nokia, some random brand i can't remember and a sharp. All have had different charger pluggy-things and I've always been kind of pissed off that they didn't just make a universal input so you didn't always have to have the right charger for your particular phone. This is a good move.

Now Apple just needs to include a wall plug with their products so people can charge their iPods without a computer or buying a wall charger separately for an exuberant price.

Even China uses it, except they install them upside so they don't get offended.

We can actually still plug in our Australian stuff and use their upside down sockets.

Glad it's all going to be as one now, I hate having chargers everywhere and not knowing which is which. I usually just read the current and volt required and go looking for whichever charger does it. lol

unofficial ones are actually not too bad, I think mine was about £5

It's the principle though. If you buy an iPod the means to charge it without using a computer should be included in the package. Instad you get a USB charger which whenever your computer turns on brings up iTunes so Apple gets another shot at saying "Hey chump, why not give us some more money while you're at it?"
