I am. We have to take courses outside of our chosen field to fulfill distribution credits. I also have a biology course.

So you pay for a degree in a specialised major-area that you want to work in, and they force you to do biology and other inane and irrelevant bullshit? I have to agree with you on this one. The system really does take away from the universities appeal, but most schools in Canada use it. I only need a single course (full year) in both the social sciences and traditional sciences though.

Ask Winston_Churchill about it. He goes to the same school as me for engineering. Not sure which humanities and social science courses he has decided to take though.

You basically use your first 2 years to take general ed requirements and focus your final 2 years on your major. In those first 2 years you also take prerequisites for your major.
