One of my closest friends turns 20 tomorrow and in about 10 days he's leaving for the Coast Guard so I need a gift idea that is useful and that can not be misinterpreted in anyway.

Any ideas or should I just buy him a bunch of liquor Friday?

Hmm, 20 isn't a very important age. I would get him a photograph of you two in a portrait or something, something physical that he can't down in 20 seconds.

Now, I would do that for his 21st, it's up to you if you want to do it for his 20th. Some good spirits should do, though.

My mom used to own a knitting and sewing shop. That was one of the things she'd have her students make. Sort of a gag. I used to have one but I lost it. Back then when I was sixteen it was a little loose.
