I remember those long lazy days, when boredom seemed like a constant drone. You can't wait to be 16 to drive, 18 to smoke and 21 to drink.
The first dose of reality is when you turn 18 and realize that the 16 year eager hottie eager to offer up that unpopped cherry could land you in jail.
Then comes having to work for a living to get anything, well, for most of us anyway.
Imagine a book of blank pages. You know how you can make a cartoon by drawing different images on the edge of each page and then flipping through the pages. If you have ever done that you might have noticed that when you near the end of the book the pages start to flip faster and it takes effort to maintain a steady speed.
Soon, the days will pass like eye blinks and the years begin to flick by like those pages of a cartoon book.
Birthdays become a thing of dread because you know that deep down inside a timer is ticking.
You need to sqeeze every second out of life. Cram as much adventure into it has you possibly can.
