SourceHe has been confined to a wheelchair for 20 years. Now a paraplegic man is walking again, and his doctors call it a miracle. CBS13 went to Manteca to find out how a spider bite helped get him back on his feet.

Now there's something no-one thought of before, using Spider venom to cure paralysis. I wonder if it could be used or if it was just an isolated incident?
Ooh, it was a fucking Recluse Spider? I hate those fuckers.

Imagine the amount of muscle he'd have had to build back in his legs. I bet he spent the better part of a year doing exercises.
Do you Kiwi's have to put up with those fucking mutant spiders as well?Ty wrote:

Nyet, Australia takes all those. All we get is the Katipo Spider, the White-Tail Spider and the Redback in terms of "dangerous" spiders but they're juniors compared to the beasts that Aussies get.
I was a bug enthusiest in my youth so I learned a whole bunch of stuff about spiders. Forgotten most of it though but I never forgot the fucking Recluse Spiders.

Maybe the cure for the spider bite cured his legs?
I would sooner believe this explanation. A poison is generally a bad thing, I really can't see it have positive effects in a case like this.FFLink13 wrote:

The shape of an eye in front of the ocean, digging for stones and throwing them against its window pane. Take it down dreamer, take it down deep. - Other Families
It would be terrible if the effects were only temporary and he would require continuous bites to walk.
Lucky fucker not only lives from it but...damn.
Remarkable

There is no cure for brown recluse venom, only way to get rid of the bite is to cut it off. Hopefully your dick didn't get bitten, or you're screwed.FFLink13 wrote:

The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
Paraplegic + Spider Bite = Normal again
Normal Man + Spider Bite = Dead/Injured
Normal Man + Radioative Spider Bite = Spiderman
Math...hard.

If you have to think about "single shot or 3 round burst" to decide which will kill the damn thing, it's too big.

Yes there is. You have to use anti-venom to stop the spread of the toxin before removing the dead tissue or you aren't stopping the spread of the dead tissue.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

There's no antivenom for the Recluse Spider, nothing needs to get chopped off though. Basically the effects from the venom run their course, (nasty nasty wounds,) and the body heals from it in time.War Man wrote:

That doesn't take away from the fact that yeah, if you got your dick bitten you'd be pretty srewed.

They are necrotic wounds. Gangrene. For best results in case of bite use anti-venom to prevent the wound growing in size then remove affected flesh.
