I've decided since I'm currently in a situation where I have nothing to do that is all that fun thanks to the fact I don't get a lot of cash here and there without employment, my PC is downright shitty and can't really enjoy BF2/CSS/WoW all that much thanks to the constant degrading of low fps, all of my 360 games are downright depressing for some reason when I play them..except occasionally I play Halo 3 with friends...I was hoping I'd have enough in my stash to trade for Left 4 Dead or CoD:WaW even though I rarely get to go to the local mall...and a few other things I could mention...that I want to spend my time on more "productive things" in my free time. There's got to be some straightforward free programs, tuts, etc on things that interest me. I'm pretty tired right now but what I think I'm thinking is that I'm asking for a push in the right direction towards 3D Modeling, programming, image editing and uh...yeah. Anything that might help me in a career would be cool. The closest I've ever been is taking a Java class last year and using AutoDesk Inventor, a... Computer...Aided...Drawing...? program in a "PLTW" "DDP" course at my school. Most of the class was geared toward engineering though...
Someone say something before I fall asleep plzkthx

I enjoy dicking around in google sketchup when im extreamly bored, and when you make something serously savage submit it online for others to see and mess with. AS far as games go get Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, with all of the expansions. It will be the best 55 bucks you will ever spend. Serously.

Lol thanks, but already enjoyed it as my first bought 360 game and a big part of why I had my mum buy it as an Xmas gift, spending over 6 months just dying to get my hands on it and playing it for more.

Cool man Im at a highschool focused on computers, and im currently taking Geomety mixed with CaDD as a sophmore, and we get to work in sick graphic design programs like Autosketch 9 and Sketchup. Aparently architects and contracters use this kind of program to creat layouts for houses and such. They get payed quite a bit and its something to serously consider if your into that kind of thing

I'm also a sophomore at my high school, dropped out of the honors math program and am now in geometry this year. It occurs more and more to me that I'm probably going to end up doing something with computers in my life. Not sure what I'd wanna do even in that category though. I still want to know more on how to make 3D models, (artistic) renders, (well I guess 3d renders, too) and code. Networking and hardware aspects of computers don't interest me as much atm.

There are many possiblitys in the realm of computers, a network engineer or programmer of any sort is in high demand right now. Its something to consider. You might find you dont want anything to do with computers as a long term job, for example, i myself find computers interesting, although i would like to persue a career in botany. Reguardless, you have a long time to think about it.

One side tip: Look out on common job sites (monster, dice, etc) now and try to narrow down a career from what you see. From that point you can determine a good skill path by looking at reqs and what skill sets they require.

I'll keep that in mind, but right now I wanna know if there's anything out there that can give me a taste of some of these things.
