I need to answer these questions for my report(for the lab practice of "measuring inductance and capacity with resonance method")so any help is welcome:

1.What is resonance ?
2.Why is resonance called voltage resonance or serial resonance(as in serial combination of R-L-C)?
3.How do we accomplish resonance in serial R-L-C circuit
4.If we measure the unknown inductance(Lx) with this method,what do we have connect with it serially
5.How can we know if resonance is accomplished
6.What is the role of resistor Ro?What would happen without it?

Here is the scheme from the pratice and I'm sorry for my English I had to literally translate it from Croatian and we won't learn profession(field of expertise) language until next year.If you have a hard time understanding,please let me know.

How much do you know about the problem?

Do you know how an inductor (L) works and how the capacitor (C) works? 

Resonance is achieved when the inductor keeps current flowing long enough to charge the capacitor, which then discharges, creating flux through the inductor, which forces current, repeating the cycle.  Perfect resonance is achieved if the drive frequency of the generator is the same as the inherent resonance of the LC circuit.

There are various equations you can use to calculate the inductance and capacitance of the system, but i don't remember them off hand

I only know the resonance is achieved when reactance is equal capacitive resistance(Xl=Xc) which we achieve by changing the frequency on the generator.That's the only thing we learned on theory

but thanks anyway
