Does anyone know how to modify certain sounds (footsteps, gun sounds, etc) or turn them off completely?

Apparently it is possible to turn sounds off using the console, but I'm not sure what the command is..

I'd prefer if I could keep all sounds on and make some louder/softer though.

Ideally, have the volume of footsteps and de-cloaking increased..

If that's not possible, I'd be happy with just the console commands to turn certain sounds (weapon fire, explosions, class voices(medic, gogogo, sentry ahead, blahblahblah) etc) off.

Put blank .wav files in your \steam\steamapps\account name\team fortress 2\tf\sound folder. If you want to know what to name them use GCFScape to open the team fortress 2 content.gcf and navigate to that folder to see the sounds yourself.

That gives me a shiiiitload of files though. D:

There's 3 different sounds for just the Fireaxe hitting flesh.

I suppose I might be able to batch-edit the million footstep audio files though..
