Is political correctness doing the opposite of what's needed in respect to racial jokes? How many times have we seen jokes towards cowami and method etc based on their race, and they've felt no ill will towards us despite the joke.

What is wrong with a joke with no hate behind it? Sure there are jokes that are meant to hurt people, and they should be stopped. But can't surely the world could get over someone calling an up on his driving and both parties laughing about it.

Fleccs is still an abo though. With a snotty nose.

I can't think of one day here where someone hasn't made a Jew joke to me...but really, I don't care. Cowami and I are always ribbing each other. We know it's in good fun and there's no harm intended.

As long as it's not malicious (and there's been a few isolated incidents where they have been, but they've been dealt with - and rightly so), jokes like that don't bother me.

Ooops. Don't want the thread closed. But, I could say that off handedly in a thread such as this one and clearly I am joking.

If I spout that sort of nonsense constantly in a number of threads then of course it would be inappropriate. I think the political correctness would have been overboard if my remark was taken literally in this thread.

So long as the intent of the remark is not to offend or is quite offensive anyway the PC brigade shouldn't start jumping up and down.

I think the difference here is that any racial jokes are being made between friends. That's not always true everywhere else.
