I like the idea of giving the slot to one who gets reported on a lot. You know the ones.


I think it may be a good idea to make a limit on the number of reports a eechatmod may make, say to one or three.


btw, the mod chatter of this thread didn't amount to much, and I am more or less making it up as we go along. The other mods are free to do with it what they will, including close it if they deem it the best thing for the site.

I did spell out the rules early on, that only reports from the OP would be listened to, that in effect I wanted them to have the hammer for this thread. The idea is that we would get a feel for what the users considered to be " the line ".

Roc got reported in eechat. I banned him. I take full responsibility because this whole thing was my idea.

Next month, somebody else will make a thread. There are consequences for using the hammer; sometimes people quit.

Maybe after a while of this you guys will appreciate the job of site moderator and have an idea what it is like.

This, is the ultimate reason why eechat exists. You get to spam, and a member gets a virtual hammer, for this thread. The site staff and the users learn from it.
