Seen as the other topic was closed with out any reason at all, I thought I should make a new one, the only thing I could think of was maybe a mod didn't like the title.

Alan Shearer is set to be appointed as Newcastle manager until the end of the season, BBC Sport understands.

And former QPR boss Iain Dowie will be part of his coaching staff.

Ex-Magpies striker Shearer, 38, has often been linked with a return to St James' Park but has been critical of the club's management structure.

He would be owner Mike Ashley's fourth manager this season following the exit of Kevin Keegan, as the club fights a grim battle against relegation.

Avoid relegation this season, get a respectable 3rd next season and the season after that title winners, European champions, fa cup winners, Carling cup winners and Owen player of the year. imo

I don't see how you can say the topic has already been discussed, seeing as the thread was closed pretty quickly last time, with only 1 reply. And if you and apparantly the other 99% of the community don't care, then why the fuck are you posting in this thread?

We don't need a new thread everytime something football-related happens. You guys would piss and moan if the Americans posted a baseball/a-football/basketball related thread everytime they changed a coach/manager or hired a new player. There are at least 3 British football related threads floating around in the recent puddles of EE discussion, why the hell do we need another 1/2 for Shearer? 99% of the community do not care.

I like and respect Shearer as a person and as a player. He has authority and is well respected among the current players and fans. He also played for Newcastle for a very long time. Hes a perfect choice.
