The OT is not relevant to Christianity. There were no Christians during the time of the OT, it is impossible to have Christianity before you had Christ. Also if it were the same book it would not have been clearly seperated and distinguished as different even in the bible.Mekstizzle wrote:

Religion is all about pick and choose anyway, and there's no such thing as being a true follower of a religion because all the texts have been skewed and changed throughout history to follow certain ethno political agendas. There's one thing for sure though, the crazy Christian right in the USA are about as far away from Jesus, and would probably belong more in the Muhammad camp.
Not going to deny that Muhammad was a bloodthirsty general who fought wars in the name of being persecuted, sending letters to Persian kings demanding they convert or face war and bullshit like that. Definitely not a religious leader, but a general who built an empire from the Arab tribes he was. He just created a religion as a medium for uniting the Arab tribes so he could get his empire
Compare the foundation of Islam and mortal messenger, and his words and teachings, to that of Christianity, its messenger, and his words and teachings. In doing so you will see that ISLAM is based on the teachings of Muhammad HIS violence, intolerance and hatred, and by NOT following those teachings, you are NOT following Islam, regardless of what you call yourself.
By following the teachings and words of Christ, you are following non-violence, peace tolerance and acceptance, by straying from thise words and teachings you ARE NOT following Christ, regardless of what you call yourself
