Hai guise.

Mai PSU is making a buzzing noise after long off times, the monitor seems to be affected as well as it is tearing in a unusual way in sync with the PSU. The problem fixes itself after a few load minutes.

So far what I know:

-My voltages are optimal, I'm saying this b4 the trolls come and say OMFGWTFBBQ IT GON BLOW.

-I do have a Surge Suppressor and I suppose my power is clean nao.

-I have talked to Max about this and he claims it is the capacitors gettin' charged up, babe.

-I have tried to power on my computer with everything off in my room.

-I had this issue since I first booted up the computer in December. (I moved from Canada).

I want the Tech sperts to help me out. Its most probably nothing much, but I WANNA KNOW.

btw psu is Antec TrioPowahQuattrah 850vatts

Oh I forgot to mention. This never happened in Canada. So something is causing it ffs!

Maybe something was damaged when you shipped it from Canada in a bag.

So in Romania they have 230V mains, like proper people, and in Canada they have ~100V mains. I'm assuming your PSU can take either, otherwise it'd likely have blown up. It's probably related to that.

Power supplies from America don't like European power and vice versa.

It has automatic voltage mode switching.

And no, it was shipped in its original box, with more protective stuff than all my equipment' protective stuff, lol.

In that case, if it has been doing it since you got to Europe, then maybe your particular PSU doesn't work very well at that voltage - it does happen...

How can that make sense if its a universal PSU?

Anyways, I shouldn't be worried right?

You know.... not every PSU that comes off that manufacturing line works 100% like it should in all voltage areas... they tend to be more or less unique (some work perfect, some act weird, some explode in flames etc.)

But will it be fine then?

Voltages are fine, no reboots, nothing.

Probably yes. Might fail one day or not. Just like any piece of hardware. If it bugs the crap out of you, go get a new PSU or if possible, RMA.

I'm not gonna start horror stories of my experience with blowing up Antec PSUs.... you might not sleep tonight if I did

Lets hope mine wont splode, since installing the surge suppressor, the unclean power stopped it's toll (It no longer buzzes violently for brief moments.)

The noise I was hearing in my headphones turned out to be cause the from jack is not shielded...

Besis the anomaly at startup, my computer runs flawless. Maybe it's the unclean power source and/or the higher voltage cause my caps to buzz slightly on startup.

i think that when a PSU is being strained (read: constantly using over 80% of its wattage rating), the caps whine.  i'm not exactly sure though.  specs please.

Yeh people bitch about the same thing on the EVGA forums. The Analogue power runs squeal and whine at high voltage. All within normal operating tolerances.

Heard about things called screws? Especially the ones that stick on plastic well?
Or the wild card: plastic fan mounting things.

Those combined with screw driver will do magic.

edit: oh and if you ment fuxored bearings.... you described it in very odd way...

Yeah, except my power supply does buzz like in the video above. So that gives me two problems instead of one. I dont unterstand what you are meaning. all screws i see on my 80 mm fan are the one holding it to the case.

I think the bearing is kaput, tbh

Magic smoke.

That fan does that noise only on spin up, it's normal after a few minutes and my power supply DOES buzz like on that video sometimes. like it did yesterday and it was so intense the psu was noise even with the pc off ([- 0] was on.)

WTF IS WRONG WITH ME. I'M GETTING SHIT HAPPENING ONE AFTER THE ANOTHER....
