Apple's going all out in anticipation of a landmark for the company -- the downloading of one billion apps in the App store. Not bad for nine months of work, if you think about it: over 110 million a month, in fact. About 27 million a week... well, you get the idea. Oh yeah, they're giving away a bunch of stuff too, so be sure to check that out if the mood strikes you.

I plugged my brothers itouch into my computer so that I could add an album from Prodigy. I walked away after plugging it in. Itunes decided while I was gone to delete all his apps. Fuck em.

Surely it's still all stored on your iTunes Store Account? I know for a fact I've formatted and lost all my music-videos and purchased albums severa times and have entitled to redownload it for free. Lern2Itunes.

Oh, btw for all you "Fuck apple"ers and such, the thread title is a little misleading. It's not so much 'sold' as 'downloaded'. 75% of that billion apps could be the free apps. There's a lot of them. 80% of my apps are free. 15% are ones a family member has bought and I put on (you are entitled to share it like music to five people) and 5% are ones I've bought and, I think, 1 app of that 5% was over $1.

That's impressive though. For 9 months of work, the only thing that had that kind of output in 9 months was the amount of cells growing in a fetus over 9 months of pregnancy.

EDIT: You have to admit. What Apple did with their app SDK, letting other people design millions upon millions of apps, and they get a % of the money is brilliant. Gives people with no real experience with product selling and marketing an actual chance. The average joe who created Trism(?) App made, I think it was 3/4 of a million $ in the first month from a week of programming an app. Simply fucking brilliant.
