So my dad moved my computer to his work as a punishment to me, who was feeling like total shit and couldnt go to school, my dad still wanted me to go to school and didnt understand that me being violently ill was a reason to not go to fucking school.

So he doesnt know shit about computers, probably mishandled my already fragile system and probably broke something

Today he finally fucking returns it, I plug everything in boot up and the monitors dont respond to my computer, it knows that they are plugged into my computer (when I unplug them it says, "Check system cable") but still when I boot it does nothing... my usb devices light up and my keyboard turns on just nothing from the monitors.

I checked the monitors, even tried using just one monitor... still nothing... it doesnt display anything from the computer, the light doesnt even turn blue, it stays orange/red.

I'm so fucking pissed right now, this happened the last time my processor/mobo were fried, if I have to get a new mobo that means new Windows because I'm out of fucking activations, and then if I get a new mobo I need a new processor, and that means I need to reinstall ALL OF MY FUCKING PROGRAMS and copy the upwards of 900GB of data over and figure out a way to get a new windows on one of the three drives and copying all the shit and then installing windows AGAIN onto my larger fucking drive

That's like $600 and 10 hours worth of work which I DONT FUCKING HAVE TO FIX A STUPID FUCKING MISTAKE THAT ISN'T EVEN MY FAULT. My dad doesnt even understand the level of fuck up that is going on right now, I tell him my computer wont boot now and he says, "Oh, that sucks.."

Your windows activation is tied to your install of windows, which is on your hard drive. Your programs are not tied to your processor, they are also tied to your hard drive.

Have you made sure that your video card is seated correctly? Any bent pins on your video cable?

If I go from a AMD processor/board to an intel processor/board I wont be able to run the same version of Windows as before because its like plugging a HDD from one computer into another computer because when a motherboard is changed windows see's it as a totally new computer...

If I reinstall the windows disk onto a hard drive I have to reinstall all of my programs onto this new version of windows

I don't see any bent pins and all the cards are seated properly, one of the first things I checked

How about talking to your father about replacing what he broke?
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Try taking out ram, gpu etc and unplugging EVERYTHING, then plugging everything back in.

Check that all cables are plugged in inside of your case.

I have done this, it works fine. Just make sure to update your drivers (obviously) but if you're having compatibility problems then installing drivers should fix it.

I went from a 3400+ to a e6750 on a copy of XP with no activations left.

The next time I formatted I called microsoft to get them to activate it, pretty sure you can do that with Vista too, just kinda gay.

How is that possible if your graphics card is screwed in firmly along with the securing pin?!

You would be surprised how much damage some serious misshandling can do...

Heh, I got to admit, when I shipped my PC over the pond I was scared to death I would see the graphics card lying on the dented psu because some fucktwat dropped the package and made the gfx card snap out of its socket.

Leave 1 stick of ram in, boot.

Turn off, put in all of your ram.

Yay.

I've seen people ship racks full of servers from the US to Europe before. They didn't fare too well.

Silly Americans (at least the IT department of a certain major news provider). Take your servers out of racks before shipping them.

Computers don't like being moved.
