As title says.

I have an aptitude test coming up in 4 weeks and I need to refresh up on math skills (algebra and the sort). Its been 3 years since I finished high school and I am not paying for a tutor. So any programs that well help me refresh my math would be great.
Thanks.

I don't know why, but I get a feeling you might find something there.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I tried math.com. It is a good site but when I do the practice questions and type in my answer nothing happens, so I am getting kinda annoyed by that.
The level of math is only grade 10 I believe. Its easy stuff but I did a practice test of the aptitude test I am going to be doing and their were a few questions I was stumped on so I want to be prepared for this.

If you type out the types of questions i'm sure there's someone here who can explain the way to do those kinds of problems
I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.

Calculus is probably a bit to much for this test. And I well check out the Scottish qualification association.

One question that I cannot get the answer to ( I cant find the right formula) is this:

"If in the army there is one officer for every 16 privates, how many officers are there in a regiment consisting of 1,105 officers and privates?

This question seems so freaking simple but yet I cannot get the answer to it. Its driving me insane. I would love any help and could you please show me how you did it if you can answer. Thanks.

wow simple as that lol. What formula did you use if there is one? Like I don't get what made you to think of adding 1+16 then dividing by 1105.

Math programs are for nubs. Go to the library and crack out the test prep books, old school style.

There's 1 officer for every 16 privates.

And 1105 people in total.

It's erm, like, pretty obvious.

It won't teach you shit, but Mathematica is like the god of all math programs.

Ok well I am so damn sorry that I don't get the problem. that was the only one confusing to me because why would you add 1 officer to 16 infantry then divide the sum by all the soldiers. Unlike most of you I haven't been to school for a few years and the only math I did was on my construction job as a plumber so I lost a lot of what I learned.

Umm..

As the question said, there is 1 officer to each 16 infantry in a regiment consisting of 1,105 personnel.

You need to think about the number of groups of (officer+infanty). That way, you can find out how many officers there are, as that would be the number of groups (since there is one officer per group).

Thus, the number of group = total number of people / people in each group

= 1,105 / (1 + 16)

= 65 groups

Thus, there are 65 x 1 officers, and 65 x 16 = 1,1040 infantry.
