The wireless to ethernet bridge I used has died on me, so I was wondering whether that card would do a proper job at gaming? I have had bad experience with wireless cards and gaming, but this thing seems quite good. So, I ask you, should I go for it?

Wireless cards are pretty much "you get what you pay for". Can't find what chipset that card has, so I can't really help much further.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

It's at €70 I think, but everything is expensive as fuck here.

My only alternative is to find a 5V 2.0A+ voltage converter for my old wireless ethernet bridge , since I think that the converter on the old one failed.

Get a USB card with long cord, so you can move your card and put it in best position. I know from my own experience that moving wi-fi dongle about 20 cm away can result in 15% range increase.

I am using this - http://dlink.com/products/?model=DWA-140 and i play BF2 and other on-line games without problems

SWEET! Freezer told me to man up and cut the power chord, then wire it to a 5v molex and let the bridge run off my PSU.

IT WORKS PERFECTLY!
