My friend just got a new computer, and he tries to play BF2, but even with the filters set in a way that shows over 3000 servers for me at my house, he only can play on about 50 unranked servers.

Any ideas???

I gave him the IP's of some ranked servers I play on, and he just gets kicked for some random reason, it's never the same.
I had him delete and reinstall PB, like I had to after I kept getting kicked for "corrupted Packet Flow", but that did not help him keep from getting kicked.

He said he did, should he patch some of the older patches then patch to 1.41???
He's running Vista 64 bit OS

He doesn't need to patch any of the older ones if he already patched 1.41. Ask him if he ran the patch. If he only downloaded it, it won't work. He has to open the file and run it. He also should update pb for safe measures. That should do the trick. Maybe help him make sure he is installing the patch correctly.

I was there when he installed and updated PB, I will try to go help him with installing 1.41 when i can get over to his house. That will probably be sometime next week or over the weekend, I will post any new info if it comes up. Hopefully re-patching will work.

if your correctly patched to 1.41 you should see this number in your bf2 menu: 1.1.2965-797.0

Yes, I think I've read somewhere that either Punkbuster or BF2 itself are picky when not run with admin rights (at least in the BF2 folder).

Also, isn't there some restriction in the default "Program Files" folder in Vista? Try installing the game somewhere else on the HDD or on another partition/HDD altogether.
