HTC Fuze- problems hooking up to pc

I am getting this error
-running vista x64 business

when I plug in the device. HTC Fuze, brand new.
I have googled the error, having no luck!
Anyone who can, please help. I can't think of what to do and I'm getting kind of frustrated...

Did any software come with the phone/is the phone on when you plug it in/I don't know, I use an iPhone
