Sky+ to USB?

On the back of a sky+ box there is a USB drive.
I tried to copy a show on to the USB drive but nothing happened. It just said to make sure that my VCR is set to record

Is this supposed to happen?
Is it possible to copy contents from your Sky+ HDD to a USB drive then on to your computer so it can, say be put on to an iPod?

NB: NO PIRACY INVOLVED!

Yeah, noticed that myself. Cant find out what it does either.Always wondered. Also, my non Sky plus box shows up on my wireless network but does nothing.

This is fucking annoying. I cant torrent the show because my internet fucking hates it and now it is blocking my wireless signal and other links are slow

care to guess the show?
