When I use the Task Manager to close a non-responding program, in the list of applications they all swap about, meaning I click the program I want and by the time I hit end tast it's switched to a different program, and I end up closing the wrong thing. What's making them switch about? Memory usage? Are they sorting themselves somehow? And is there any way I can make them stay still, like XP?

inb4processes, I shouldn't have to sift through the processes to find the right one.

Sort alphabetically.

Also use Ctrl+E.

Sort the programs in alphabetical order.

Or click it and press delete quick.

Also don't blame Vista cause it's exactly the fucking same as XP except we have Services nao.

Also Performance has relevant information.

I'm blaming Vista because it never did this in XP.

If it's sorted by Image Name it doesn't jump. Ever.

If it's sorted by CPU (percentage) the selection hangs on to the right process. I've lefted mine on winamp.exe *32 and it's still on Winamp.

idunnolol. Have you tried showing processes from all users?

Maybe you have spywarez.

Applications can't close anything properly anyhow.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

He's obv sorted it by memory usage. But clicking on something even if the list rearranges order doesn't mean what you've clicked on changes. lol

I bet he's one of those people that left clicks, then right clicks, instead of just right clicking.

Like old people.

That's probably what's going on. Finray is old.

I dunno, maybe it's a glitch with this version of Vista... considering I didn't exactly buy it...

You see, I read you like open book.

Now get to it with SP1. Then install all critical updates after it.

Can't be arsed with the 700MB download.

That being said I did just download three versions of CoD5 totalling 21GB.

You prove my point correct then. Issue is behind the keyboard.

Until you install SP1 and all the updates
