Fuck them, I'd be lugging my PC, laptops and guitars out first. Books can be reprinted.

Laugh harder with your shitty classic rock with wanky predictable riffs...

Been playing ~ 8 years, with me at Uni I have a Fender Telecaster Custom '72 and a Fender Tele American Standard through a pedalboard leading to a VOX AC30 with Blue Celestion Alnico speakers. Finray I don't really know what you have to bitch about, what exactly do you do that's worthwhile or gives you a pedastal to stand on? Shag an ugly bird? Have a shitty haircut? Consider yourself a 'pro' at a game you're crap at? Wisen up and, please, end this brother-combo dick sucking faggotry you two have here. It's boring.

And yeah wah, it was probably someone coming back from the bar pissed and messing up a slice of toast. Fuck 'em!

Uzique, do you find playing a Fender through a VOX amp gives you a more tin-like or hollow sound? I've heard some interesting stories, although I cannot say what the exact set-up being used was.

I've been playing classical guitar for 10 years now, grade 7 at the Royal Conservatory of Music (1 level below what is considered orchestra worthy or "professional"), and play an Almansa 459 Cedar top.

Some Vox amps have pretty insane Treble/Highs if you crank them up, but I don't find that at all. Especially with my Telecaster Custom that has a beautiful jazz-blues tone Fender humbucker on the neck position. For me the Vox amps are the finest vintage-tube amplifiers that you can buy for a well-balanced and beautifully-toned 'clear' sound; Vox are great for a warmer and more wood-like resonance, whereas the other big cleartone alternative - the Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb - has a bit more of a tinny and precise cleartone. Really no problems with it at all, could not be happier. Add a well-designed pedalboard of reverb, delay, fuzz, drive and phaser-goodness and you have a beautifully versatile guitar set-up that caters to every style and sound at an extremely high-level.

Good to hear about classical guitar proficiency too. I'm more into my electronic knob-twiddling and DJ'ing nowadays, keeping guitar as a solo/bedroom hobby rather than playing in bands... classical and jazz guitar gets mad respect from me though. My finger-picking is lousy at the moment, I've been stuck in a stylistic rut for a few months and have barely played anything else.

Uzique, on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the hardest. Just how hard is it to pick up DJ'ing?

I realize your question was intended for Uzique, but from personal experience I can comfortably say you either have it or you don't. There's not a huge learning curve to get the basics down and cut a track, but your track will likely be total crap unless you do have some music theory or innate disposition for an ill beat. Chances are if you don't find yourself coming up with catchy things to hum or tap your fingers and actually make good rhythms you don't stand a chance. Good hobby though, lots of fun.

I'll give it an 8 on your absolutely ridiculous scale.

It's not hard to pick up at all, especially if you have an ear for music.  The hard part comes in perfecting the crossovers, doing little dj "tricks" like cutting in and out, scratching, double drops, etc.  I kind of dj as a hobby but it's more often just fucking around on my turntables for fun.  I don't have any desire to spin in clubs or make beats or anything, it's just relaxing.

Pochsy - I love the classical/nylon string guitar sound.  I've seen Ottmar Leibert twice in the last year, truly amazing stuff.  A buddy also recently got me into Michael Hedges so I've been checking out a lot of his stuff.  He's a little out there with some of his expiremental stuff but extremely talented nonetheless.

I'm thinking of taking up DJ'ing. I already attempt to produce, so would DJ'ing help my production and vice versa?

Yes. A deeper understanding of what it takes to make a track will definitely help you produce it. Even helping organize events and decorating clubs helps so you know exactly what the environments and restrictions on decibels and equipments they'll be using are. Dive in and do everything you can if you want to move that way.
