Ok guys.

I'm going to invest in a new mouse, this cheap one has served me well, but the left click is a bit fucked. It clicks twice instead of once, which is a real bastard... especially in CoH when you camo your sniper then have him un-camo -.-

I can get them for the same price both are €50, but the G5 looks more comfortable I think, any suggestions people? €50 is what I want to spend.

edit: also, needs to be USB wire + laser

Karma for halp!

I'm using the G9 and I like it... took me a couple days to get used to as it is not as thick as my mx1000. No complaints though, but no experience with the G5 though.

I would go with the G9 as it is the successor of the G5 and should be better.  You won't be able to tell which is more comfortable by just looking at it.

Otherwise, I have a G5 and it's great.  You really can't go wrong choosing between the two.

Should be better, yes, but Logitech caught a bit of flack for leaving the ergonomic design. Not being able to tell which is more comfortable by looking at them isn't a point in favor of the G9, considering the G5 is already established has having the best ergonomics.

I bought a Logitech G5 and wish I never did. If you have small hands don't buy one, get a Razer.

Don't go near razor mice, they are crappy. Microsoft and logitech all the way.

G5 or MX518

Had the latter for about 2-3 years, but the left button started getting a little loose (3 years of prime-time gaming is damn good). Parents got me a G5, and it's a little better for my sweaty hands, plus the weight cartridge impresses the hell out of my tech-nub friends.

Razer, though it has improved, is still balls compared to Logitech.

I've had that for almost two years, love it. Soooo comfy. And the steel scroll doesn't screw up either.

Typing with friends account and very drunk but G5 for big hands and Razer for tiny hands. I personally have G5 abd MX510 and they are awsome and only mice that fit my big hands.

G9, HANDS DOWN.

Worlds better than the G5. I've had two G5's, and I now have a G9...it is SO much better.

G9 is excellent.  I've never tried the G5, but I have another Logitech full-length mouse, and there is a surprising amount of freedom having a short mouse gives you.  For example, I can move my cursor on the same dpi (very low) as my other mouse around the entire screen without moving my wrist at all.  It does take some getting used though, but the weight system can cut down on this time if you find a weight that holds the mouse within nice momentum without giving it too much inertia (but really, how much difference can you feel between 16 and 28 grams?).

Hmm, it's still a hard decision it seems both are excellent. From looking at the G9, it doesn't look that comfortable to be honest.

My hands are big enough, certainly not small anyway.

Can you tell me why? is it more comfortable or what? buying a mouse has become an important decision, I don't intend to buy another for a few years.

Wuts up with the price though, both cost the same?

Bah, if the G9 cost the same as the G5 you should have absolutely got the G9...

Why it is better:
Has a MicroGear scroll, so you push a button and it goes from "clicky" to "freespool". Basically, you just flick the scroll and it stays spinning for like 30 seconds. Click a button and it goes back to "clicky".

Has onboard memory which you can save 5 profiles to. So, you install Setpoint and set all your speeds, binds, options etc and then save it to the onboard memory. Then you can plug it into any computer and have all the same settings without needing Setpoint. Even works in Linux.

Has changeable shells to change the stance from high to low, and wide to narrow to customize the feel.

Faster laser, which means it's more accurate/responsive.

Plus, G5's are built shitty. The first one I had just died on me, and the second one started dying the same way...which is when I bought the G9. I've had the G9 for over a year now with no problems at all.

Whats the point of having ultra super hyper lazer mouse that is not comfortable for you? besides, I'm yet to see a person that can notice difference between the lasers of G5 and G9.

I know many ppl that have been using their G5s for long time without issues. Of course there are bad ones and dare I say I have seen dying G9s too.

Some prefer the design of G5 like me, and some the G9. For me the G9 was absolute pain in arse to use.

The G9 was a little uncomfortable for me for about a week, and then I got used to it.. and now I love the feel of it.

I can absolutely tell a difference between the G5 and the G9 laser. I can't put it into words, but I can surely tell a difference in the tracking and responsiveness.
