Trouble with this girl. Need advice

Background. I knew her 3 years ago but we were on different levels at school so we hardly mixed much though. Shes just an acquaintance to me. Sometimes she does talk to me on msn though but nothing about love and stuff. Recently, i seem to have a special feeling for her. I just like her character. So i decided to give her a present on her birthday and telling her how i feel about her.

On that day, she asked me to take it all back and after much persuasion, she decided to keep it but telling me that she will either throw it away or give it away. She called me disgusting too. Plus now, i got the receiving end of a block and delete on her msn contact list. Any help to redeem myself? Send a long text to explain or just forget it altogether? It hurts to lose a friend like that.

I guess its her friend who told bad stuff about me and she just took it in. Her attitude isnt like that. Should i give it a go at apologising to her?

Well. I used to like her friend way back. But things didnt work out that well. She rejected me.

You should have made a joke with it, even something corny like attaching to the handle a note which reads "you've got a hold of me" or "I can't handle how I feel about you" she'll either laugh it off or think you are the sweetest guy in the world.
